Sitcoms took a bit of a decline in the early part of the 21st century after having been a staple of modern television throughout the prior decades. In recent years, TV shows with hour-long episodes produced by HBO, Netflix, Hulu and various streaming services appear to have replaced the 30-minute sitcom in terms of popularity.
