Harry Potter or Percy Jackson Quiz
You've read the books, watched the movies, maybe even argued with a friend over which series is better. But when put to the test, can you actually tell the difference between a Harry Potter character and a Percy Jackson character? Before you confidently nod yes, let's see how you fare when names start flying at you like rogue Bludgers.
This quiz is simple: you'll see a name, and you have to decide whether they belong in J.K. Rowling's wizarding world or Rick Riordan's world of Greek demigods. Sounds easy, right? Well, some names might trip you up—especially if you haven't brushed up on your magical spells or ancient mythology in a while.
Before you start, here's a quick refresher to make sure you're ready.
Wait, What If I Haven't Read Both Series?
No problem! Whether you're a die-hard fan of one or have dabbled in both, this quiz will still be fun. Here's a quick breakdown of what you need to know:
- Harry Potter takes place in a world of witches, wizards, and magical creatures. The story follows Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, as he navigates Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, battles the dark wizard Voldemort, and discovers the power of friendship (and maybe a few questionable Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers along the way). If you remember wands, spells, and flying broomsticks, you're on the right track.
- Percy Jackson & The Olympians is a modern take on Greek mythology, where demigods (half-mortal, half-god kids) train at Camp Half-Blood and go on epic quests. The main character, Percy Jackson, discovers he's the son of Poseidon and must battle monsters, navigate prophecies, and deal with the occasional Olympian-level family drama. If words like "ambrosia," "celestial bronze," or "Oracle of Delphi" sound familiar, you're in good shape.
Still not sure? No worries—this quiz is a great way to learn! Each question comes with an explanation, so whether you get it right or wrong, you'll walk away knowing more than when you started.
How to Take the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson Quiz

I got 25 out of 25!
Incredible! You know your wizards from your demigods like the back of your hand. Whether it’s Hogwarts or Camp Half-Blood, you’d fit right in. Your deep knowledge of spells, swords, and prophecies proves you’re a true fan. Keep that magical (or mythological) brain sharp—your trivia skills are legendary!

25/25. I have only read Harry potter so I just guessed that the peoples names I didn’t recognize were Percy jackson characters.
Not bad, after guessing them and I’ve only watched one harry potter movie and none of Percy Jackson.
24/25 – one dumb mistake…also, one of the answers read ‘Horace Slughorn’ is a fictional character from Harry Potter’. Spoiler Alert – they’re all fictional characters!
25/25 read both of these
14 / 25 – 56% Not bad, when they were all guesses because I have not seen / read any Harry Potter / Percy Jackson.

YES! I have to take it again because I forgot to read the description for Remus Lupin!
Aww. The description for Lupin made my heart melt.
Also. I know absolutely nothing about Percy Jackson, but I’ve read all the Harry Potter books and seen the movies. I’ve watched the movies more than once but I like the books better. I rarely like movies better than books.
Nice! I like the books better than the movies because of the details, but I like the movies because I can’t see in my mind’s eye very well. (Also? Also what?)
Sorry. Silly of me not to say, seeing as how I get annoyed at people who assume you’ll know what they mean. Also 25/25.
Oh! That makes sense! Thanks for clearing that up, sometimes I ask people what they mean (typo in their comment) and they just never answer…
