About 250 million years ago, long after the Earth had formed, the first land masses at the time were made of multiple continents merged together to form a supercontinent called Pangaea. Years later, incredible forces ripped apart the Earth's crust, eventually creating seven continents: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica.

From the baking plains of Africa and the frozen waters off Antarctica, each of the seven continents boasts its own unique animal life. Some of this extraordinarily diverse wildlife, like the giant panda, emperor penguin, and African elephant, are indigenous to their continents, meaning they cannot be naturally found outside of their native home locations.

How well do you know where in the world various animal species originated? Test your knowledge of the seven continents of the world and the unique animal life that is native to each one through this animal geography quiz.
