The '40s may have been a long time ago, but that doesn't detract from how important that decade was. Many significant events happened during this era, including some that we don't talk about that much these days.

One of the most iconic monuments in the U.S. is undeniably Mount Rushmore. Did you know that the sculpture was completed in 1941? Casablanca is a timeless romantic movie that also premiered in this decade, in November 1942 to be exact. It may be commonplace now, but Tupperware containers were only beginning to be sold by department stores in 1946. A year later, the vintage and beloved Polaroid instant camera was first introduced. A fun fact for car racing fans: the first NASCAR race for modified stock cars was held at Daytona Beach in 1948!
