We all know the common dinner table manners and etiquette: Don't talk with food in your mouth, keep your elbows off the table (when there's food on it), and use a fork, not your hands—right? Not exactly.
Some foods are definitely meant to be eaten without utensils. In fact, using a knife and fork for such dishes may even take away from the sensory experience of eating, including the taste. Try to attack a rack of ribs with a knife and fork and you'll likely end up with a lap full of barbecue sauce (instead of all over your fingers, where it belongs). It doesn't matter whether the taco has a soft or hard shell, or how skilled you are at avoiding mess – you have to eat it with your hands. The fillings deserve to go directly into your mouth. The same goes for wraps, burgers and sandwiches.
