Hi Quizly, Good Day to you! Sorry, but I found two errors in the above quiz, and thought I should just point these out so that you can amend them. They are as follows:
In your one of your questions, you wrote: โYou are traveling to Asia to see the Wat Pho Temple Complex and the very large and famous Reclining Buddha. Where in the word are you?โ.
โ You obviously meant to write: โWhere in the WORLD are you?โ!
In another question, you wrote: โWhat country has 31 states below the Rio Grande?โ
โ the word โbelowโ in this context is, at best, ambiguous! It is more likely to mean โlower in altitudeโ than โsouth ofโ, but the country a river flows through is extremely unlikely be lower in altitude than ANY of its rivers (apart from in the case of very low-lying countries such as The Netherlands), but itโs well known that Mexico has many mountains and much very high ground! Therefore, itโs highly implausible for the entirety of all of its 31 states to lie lower (in altitude) than the afore-mentioned river! Moreover, the words โaboveโ and โbelowโ should NOT be used as viable alternatives to โnorthโ and โsouthโ (respectively), ESPECIALLY in GEOGRAPHICAL contexts! So, you should rightfully have used the GEOGRAPHY-specific words, i.e. the CARDINAL &/or ORDINAL directions โ SOUTH / SOUTH-WEST / WEST etc., as not ALL of Mexicoโs states ARE to the south of the Rio Grande, due to the fact that this river doesnโt form the whole of the border between the USA and Mexico, but only about 2/3rds of it. So, to conclude, itโs more accurate to state that Mexico has 31 states to the SOUTH, SOUTH-WEST and WEST of the Rio Grande! As this IS, after all, a GEOGRAPHY quiz, itโs only right and proper to use the correct GEOGRAPHICAL terminology โ as Iโm sure you will agree!
23/24.
