According to the Oxford Dictionary, spelling is hard. And misspellings are not only common, but also awkward in professional contexts.

When you receive an email or document riddled with typos, it's difficult to trust the person sending it. Spelling speaks to attention to detail as well as level of education, and you want to make sure yours is on point.

If you do find yourself being overly dependent on autocorrect or misspelling the same word for the 18th time this year, it would obviously be to your advantage to improve your spelling. To do that, you must commit the words you often misspell to memory, and physically looking them up until you do so is an effective path to spelling perfection.

Take this quiz to see if your spelling is up to par. For each of the commonly misspelled words in this quiz, choose the spelling you think is correct. Can you go 18 for 18?
