Acceptable or acceptible? Mayonaise or mayonnaise? The ability to spell correctly is critical. It's a skill that influences one's literacy and vocabulary.

We are surrounded by people who are overtly confident and think they are smarter than they really are. But all it takes is one misspelling or typo and suddenly, this particular individual doesn't seem quite as intelligent anymore.

Since the advent of helpful computer spell-checking software, our spelling skills could use some dusting off. When we once went running for the dictionary, we now simply click a button on our computer. Unfortunately that does not teach today's generation to spell.
