This depends on who is calling you a nerd and why, of course, but in general, being deemed a nerd today does not mean what it used to.

Nerds used to be social rejects who favored comic books, science fiction, and other forms of entertainment or literature that the general masses were not into as much. Now that most people have come around and warmed up to such aspects of entertainment and leisure, being a nerd has become a good thing.
