The answer about Buckingham Palace is misleading. Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle are property of the Crown, but not the personal property of the monarch (which Balmoral and Sandringham are). They’re no more “the monarch’s property” than the White House is property of the US President or the Elysée Palace is property of the President of France.
