Normally, we gauge a person by his character to decide whether to have him in our circles. If he's not ethically sound, is it worth it to have a relationship with such a person? If a new neighbor moves in and comes by to say hello with a fresh plate of brownies, you'd immediately get a wonderful impression of her.
