Just one error. The country in question is located culturally within one continent, but geographically it belongs to another continent.

Dear Quizly, in this quiz, I found that you’d made a couple of errors. Please find the details of these below:

    1. In your question: On which continent is the country of China located?
    – In your answer, you said, ‘The correct answer is “Asia”. China, officially the People’s Republic of China, is a country in East Asia. It is the world’s most populous country, with a population of more than 1.4 billion.’

I don’t know when you at Quizly first wrote this quiz, but this is overdue to be updated, because China is no longer the world’s most populous country. India’s population officially overtook that of China in April 2023. At the time of writing this (in late October 2025), India’s population has been estimated to be just over 1.46 billion, whilst China’s is just over 1.41 billion. India’s population is continuing to grow at a more rapid rate than China’s is.

    2. In your question: On which continent is the country of Suriname located?
    – You stated: ‘The correct answer is “South America”. Suriname is a small country on the north-eastern coast of South America. It’s defined by vast swaths of tropical rainforest, Dutch colonial architecture and a melting-pot [of] culture.’

In the interest of accuracy and spirit of helpfulness – I’m NOT being pedantic or nit-picking – but thought that you would want to know that your word ‘swaths’ is not the correct spelling: it should be “swathes”.

Thank you again for taking the time to send thoughtful feedback. We really do appreciate it.

You’re absolutely correct that India has since overtaken China as the world’s most populous country. That quiz explanation was written prior to the April 2023 population shift, and we’ll update it to reflect the current reality.

Regarding “swaths”, that spelling is actually the preferred American English form, which is what we use across Quizly as the majority of our audience is based in the US. “Swathes” is the British English spelling of the same word. Both are correct depending on region.

Thank you for helping us keep Quizly sharp and up-to-date. We do not think you are nitpicking. In fact, we’re grateful for users like you who care about accuracy as much as we do.
