About This Quiz

Earth is an immensely vast place, home to 7.7 billion people and almost 200 countries. Our little, blue planet is actually more like a big, thick encyclopedia of knowledge just waiting to be discovered. Did you know that it snows in Hawaii? Hawaii's volcanoes such as Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are tall enough that although the coastlines are filled with palm trees and tropical temperatures, the mountaintops can see snow in the winter. Were you aware that most of half of the U.S. total coastline is in Alaska? Here's one more amazing geography factoid: The Pacific Ocean is shrinking. Every year, Asia and North America get closer and closer as the Pacific is reduced by two to three centimeters.

To do well on this North American geography quiz, you have to be the kind of person who can retain large amounts of information about a wide variety of subjects. In this part of the world, there are two countries that we hear a lot about, the United States and Canada. But there are actually a total of 23 countries in North America alone! Do you know where they are and what their capitals are? Most of us don't, but if you can pass this quiz, you'd have earned a score worth bragging about to your peers.
