Customs are different in the country I live in. For one thing, one never wears shoes indoors, so when I go out to bring in clothes from the line or go to place plastic items in the recycling bad, I go outside barefoot. Another factor is the absence of my wife who lives most of the year abroad. When she comes home she gives the house a fearsome cleaning, and her son and his partner do the same every month or so when she’s away.
