I did over my fear of spiders and the dark, but now I am afraid of natural disasters and stray animals! (I have NO idea why I am afraid of stray animals!)
To be fair to yourself, natural disasters have become more common and can be scary and devastating. So, it’s an understandable fear.
As for the stray animals, animals can be unpredictable…and that can be unsettling. Most strays are either lost pets, abandoned pets…or were born feral.
The feral ones typically avoid people. Lost or abandoned pets are just hungry and looking for love again. And it can be hard not being able to take them in.
At least that has always been my experience.
Aww, I don’t want storms to be more common! : ( Umm… So, I know that they are just looking for love, but ever since I saw what Sirius did to Ron (dragged him to the shrieking shack) I’ve kinda been scared of what strays really would do…
Aaah. In that case, you would do well to remember that Sirius was not a stray animal. He was a wanted man who could disguise himself as an animal. 100% of animals aren’t humans in disguise. And Sirius states he was going for The Rat(Peter Pettigrew), Ron just happened to be holding him. Another human disguised as an animal. Not the same as a stray.
The only time you need to be worried about strays is if they’re rabid. And that’s rare.
I just remembered why I might be afraid of strays. One time my mammaw found a stray cat, long story short, she had babies and I think she ate them… They were only alive for a week and then their mom ATE THEM!
Well yeah, but I’m still afraid of what they CAN do…
Fortunately, you’re at an age where that can change…somewhere down the road.
My mom never used to be scared of dogs, then one day she was. Our brains can be funny, but also stressful, organs. And things are always changing.
