One day there will come a time when even the nine movies, those considered canon by George Lucas himself, won’t even make up the bulk of what we know about the characters and the worlds and galaxies they inhabit. 50 to 100 years in the future, Star Wars fans might reflect back on the original three movies as something from another time period while the stories and characters march on.
It’s interesting to think where the Star Wars universe will go now that it has taken on a life of its own separate from its creators. The characters and worlds are only going to grow in their complexity and we will learn more about the backstory to planets, characters, and themes.
