4/20 didn’t try either, none of them are pronounced like I say them, American and certainly not how I speak from Yorkshire England. Became very tedious and boring
I would have got full marks for this quiz had it not been due to my BRITISH English pronunciation of ‘nuclear’ – viz. new-clee-a. There ought to be a way of setting these quizzes to British English for those of us who live in the U.K. or for Brits living abroad and who are still pronouncing English in the standard British way.
Another thing is that Quizly gave an incorrect definition for ‘chartreuse’ – it means a yellowy-green colour and not blue-green as Quizly wrongly thought!
14/20 – plus 4 as the pronunciation questions all related to US English pronunciation. I’m English and we say these words differently. Also, there were some dodgy definitions there!

18/20. When I took Latin (in a Catholic school, so-Church Latin), we pronounced larvae as lar-vay.
5/20 didn’t try
15/20. I failed on the American pronunciations, got two wrong while obsessing over pronunciations because I didn’t read the question properly, and I got chartreuse right but it is not a blue/green colour, it is yellow/green. Sorry, must have put on my cranky pants this morning.

“Larvae” can be pronounced differently in different parts of the USA (in addition to in the UK.). And teal is blue green, not chartreuse.
