All of us of guilty of having certain bad habits. We may acknowledge them but procrastinate or make excuses when it comes to breaking these undesirable habits. In the words of Samuel Johnson "The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."
Snacking unnecessarily, binge-drinking and sitting on the couch over a long period of time are obviously unhealthy habits. It may well be boredom that led to habits like those. Stress and anxiety may cause nervous behavior like biting your nails, tapping your foot, or clenching your jaw. Then there are the emotional habits like staying in a relationship that is bad for you. Breaking bad habits takes time and effort, but mostly it takes self-awareness and perseverance.
