Most of us know that pie is one of our greatest creations as a human race. There's not much you can't put into a flaky, buttery crust. From fruity fillings piled high with meringue to rich, creamy chocolate delights, there's a pie that satisfies every craving and taste.
No matter what the season or occasion, there's always a fitting time for a slice of pie. Autumn and winter call for a pie filled with caramel pumpkin or strawberry rhubarb; during summer, it's the blackberry lattice pie or sugar-crusted peach version that we turn to. Even for those of us who don't necessarily have dessert after every meal, it can be tough to turn down a slice of chocolate cream pie.
