We hear less about a different phenomenon referred to as โAncillary Character Syndromeโ where the person is basically just in a supporting role to some other person. Then again you could be the โromantic interestโ or even the โwacky neighborโ.

Uh oh! The producers haveย cut you from the movie. You had some lines and a couple of scenes that might be included in the director’s cut but that’s it.ย
I’m a little surprised actually, as I’m in my school’s musical, and even though I’m just part of the Ensemble, I got a speaking line and and a group song along with everything else.
