IKEA is the world's largest furniture retailer, specializing in ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories, but you probably know that by now. You might even have enjoyed the food at their in-house restaurant after a day of shopping.
The furniture giant was founded in Sweden in 1943 by then-17-year-old Ingvar Kamprad, whose initials make up the first two letters of the brand name. A huge part of IKEA's success must be owed to their low prices for furniture and other items of good quality.
