A great example is the song "1-800-273-8255" by Logic, referring to the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The song generated more awareness for the hotline, with a proven increase in the number of calls made.

2017 was also the year for passionate newcomers to make their mark. One of the names that pop up immediately is Cardi B, with her hit "Bodak Yellow". The 25-year-old struck gold with this debut single, topping charts for weeks. Multiple members of One Direction came out with solo projects, with Niall Horan releasing "Flicker", Liam Payne with a couple of hit singles and Harry Styles releasing his self-titled album. Although they were famous as a group, they are now seen as solo artists.
